Kitten, I replied to your message but wanted to post so everyone knew. Mom is missing. Bob called around yesterday to try to find an incubator, and is headed up Monday with quail for the male. About five years ago Lolo, the female at Horizon, was injured and couldn't fly to the nestbox, but could flutter well enough to keep away from any people. Bob supplied quail to the plant manager, who put a quail out for Lolo and the male everyday. He incubated the eggs successfully while she healed. Eventually, she healed well enough to return to the nestbox and the eggs survived her absence.

We may try doing something like that again. I'll keep everyone posted.

I should have posted yesterday .... the female is missing.  She's been gone for about 3 days now I think.  Kitten contacted whoever she could .... that note was in reply.  Not sure how this one is going to work out.  Sad

The main page with the cam doesn't seem to be working for me ... but I've got it open in WMP.

The eggs were removed from the nest ...after the male 'seemed' to have given up.  Original female did not return and was not found.

A few days later ... a new female showed up.  Courting/mating took place and she laid an egg today!

OK I'm not sure what this is going to be like I messed up a bit and had to cut around but look around 1:05 or so and see if that looks
like another one flying by I'm asuming this to be the male since there are no bands sound went off just after I got this

A Video from CLC bigsmile

1st Hatch   It is a long video but you don't get a much better view or sound of an Eyas Hatching. You see and hear Mom pull the shell off the Eyas and help it out  nod2   2.75 hrs edited to 31 min.7:00-9:45pm EST 06/03/2012
