Well, the cam was working through the storm ... now it's not.  And the roads are closed due to all the rain, etc.  Dr. Sharpe said it'll be 4-5 days at least. Sad

..
All roads and trails on Catalina Island, except the paved road to the airport, are closed until further notice due to the recent rains. Therefore, I will not be able to reset the antenna for the West End cam or switch over to our antennas for the internet feed to the mainland for a couple days.

Well .... we won't be seeing this nest at all for the rest of the season.  All the solar panels and batteries are gone!!  Seems like the whole area where they were gave way and it's all gone.  AND .. they are now incubating, which is a good thing... we'll have to wait for updates and banding time.

Thanks Patti  sosad
(The link in your above post is incorrect.......it takes us to the DC Eagle cam video.  bigsmile
It should be
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSukiBW2gZk

This has always been one of my favorite nests --- Dr Sharpe sounded somewhat sad when he said this is the first time in his 21 seasons
that we won't have a West End cam.

At the end of the video, he does say the following.....

Be well SM and 91 --- hope you raise a beautiful family. love

WE Overlook cam is back on. Right click on the list of cameras, choose reload frame, and you should have the new link information
(thanks Roger).

The WE nest is about 6 feet behind the camera enclosure you can see. You can only see the right 1/4 of the nest from this angle.

I received a letter today from IWS.  The money from the Montrose settlement restoration program has been exhausted.  They will be cutting staff and and budget by over 50% for 2018. Sad

So, of course, they are looking more donations and will be doing more fundraising.
