Our dreams have come true!!!!!!!!!!!  Leave it to Dr. Sharpe!!!!!!!

WE HAVE WINDSHIELD WIPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few of the IWS bald eagle nests of the Channel Islands off Cali are on rock pinnacles overlooking the water and get water spots not just when it rains but from dew and more. We've teased in chat about getting wipers for the cam for years. Today, that became a reality! Two of the nests on Catalina Island now have a rotating cam dome. ''The entire dome rotates past a wiper. There is also a sprayer for when you need to wash something off the dome''. Here is the Two Harbors cam being tested. How awesome is that?!?

I think these pictures are highlights but didn't realize it when I snapped them. I'm posting these anyway BUT I don't think they are 'live'.
Unless something changed after I read about the nest (very briefly!), 82 is the only one seen so far and they think there may be
a new male.  sosad
(Those of you who pay more attention on the CHIL --- please correct me if I'm wrong)  bigsmile

7:30 AM nest time

Hooray!  81 is not MIA ........ he came in this afternoon and was 'quite active'.  love love I wasn't watching live but it
sounds as though his identity has been confirmed by Dr Sharpe. (will verify that later).

Yup......active!  lollol

The Two Harbors cam is back online (since yesterday afternoon). Explore will be replacing a switch on the mainland today and we should be
switching to my antennas. I will try to hike to the West End tomorrow to see if I can fix things out there.

The Two Harbors pair ended up building a new nest.  One fiesty female chick this year. Smiley
