Someone on the nest!  Possibly a male, fiddling with sticks and chirping!
 love

8:11am  Now it looks like a female!  Will try to get pics!

Polo (very reliable!)  posted on chat: Bonding attempt, 4pm 3-17-17, not successful.

1:56pm
Both parents on nest.  Mom is hollering - don't know if she's hungry or wants to 'bond,' Her movements tell me she wants to bond!
Dad is digging in the nest, trying to ignore her!

2:05pm
Looked like a successful mating!  (No pic, caught the tail end of it!)

Bonnie, great that you have activity on your nest!  Thumbs-up.... Do you think it's the same pair?   Female on nest now and it sounds like
she is food calling.....also looks like she could use a meal or two.  bigsmile

What's with all the extra hardware this year along the rails? --- and a perch has been added!   being that you have been on site, does the one 'road side' actually go over the traffic or is it cam angle?   Not so good for inexperienced juvies before fledging if it goes over road.  shrug

Sherri, the pole of the nest is on the grass to the right of the sidewalk, but the cam angle makes it look like the nest is over the street.  It's close enough that if the chicks fledge on the street side, they definitely could land in the street.  I visited several times last season before and after fledge.  Fledgling #1 was missing for several days, but eventually returned to the nest. (I was not able to find it!) The parents like to hang out in the trees that aren't in view (upper right of your picture) - and I think that may be where the juvie was hiding!

Approx 3:40pm
Observed several visits and hanky-panky today.  Earlier, Pops brought Mom a small fish, she flew up and to the right with it (trees are in upper right, out of sight).
They've both been very vocal today.

There is a lot of foot traffic (students) as well as vehicle traffic - which the ospreys continue to ignore!

(Pops on right in picture - his feathers are darker.  I think it's the same pair - not 100% certain.  Behavior seems to be the same as last year!)

3:52pm
Mom and Pops still on nest.  Pops trying to nap, sounds like Mom wants to bond, she's very vocal.

2:11pm
Mom and Pops have been on (or near) the nest all day.  Pops was very loud earlier... I think there must be intruders/migrators in the area.
Here's Mom supervising school dismissal.  Amazing that all this action doesn't bother them!

Note:  Egg #1 laid last year on 4-4-16!

No egg as of 3:41pm today.
Mom has been on the nest constantly, watching the traffic and occasionally calling Pops.  Pops has been very prompt in delivering her meals when she's hungry! She usually takes her fish off the nest to eat - but not always.
When the angle is right, you can see his shadow on the nest - he likes to hang out on top of the cam!
(New PC - no pics - haven't figured it out yet!)

Egg  #3 - April 19, 2017
(Cam was down and/or bad stream for a few days.)

All is well on the nest; a few intruders, which is common for this nest and area.

Bonnie, I tried several times to get the cam and it was way off center.

Great news! Smiley
