Such a shame about first panda cub born in Japan in 24 years dying after one week.  Apparently mother's milk obstructed cub's airway.  Statistics quoted in article stated that 60% - 70% of all panda cubs die within the first week of life.  Sad.

MaryG ... that is such a sad story coming out of Japan sosad

I was out most of the day but just before leaving early this afternoon, I caught a SC of Mama tenderly holding her babe and giving him some gentle licks ... kisses  love (excuse the buffering symbol in the middle of the shot rolleyes2)

... she sure loves that little one!
