Thanks for bringing the picture and info here, Sherri - they sure are cute!  And the youngest seems feisty and seems to be getting fed well!

Oops - sad news - I went to get the link for this nest on the Hancock forum because golden1/Donna has been doing a great job documenting this nest (she's from Colorado so it's a "local" nest for her) - and learned that one of the older chicks died overnight.  crying  Donna watched a feeding at 10:45 am yesterday mountain time when all four were looking great - "10:45am Another feeding is in progress. I watched to see how many bites #3 and #4 got this time after the older two had at least 30 bites each. #3 had 31 bites that I saw and #4 had 19bites. #4 sits right up and even reached out to get food this time." But one of them did not move during the first morning feeding Donna saw, and she reported that another observer thought one of them was not well yesterday evening.

This picture from 6:06 am is courtesy of golden1 from the Hancock forum - and the little one looks very eager!

Thanks Judy  crying
I only heard about the 4th chick hatching yesterday and didn't look at the cam -- only a video that was
sent to me and they all looked really good.
When I was working on putting the info up here, it was still dark in CO so didn't see the chicks.
So sad -- I was hoping for a good outcome here.

The link for the cam is in my original post.

I'm afraid there's more sad news here - the other two older chicks have also died.  crying  #4 was looking strong this morning, but seemed a bit shaky when I just looked in, so whatever caused the deaths of the other three may get him or her as well.

And if that's not enough bad news, it looked as if the female swallowed some fishing line, possibly with a sinker and maybe a hook on it.  crying  With luck she'll be able to get rid of the lot of it in a pellet - and they are looking to see if there is any way to intervene, to find out what is happening to the chicks, and to treat Mom (if they can catch her).

It's all so very sad.

A little better news here -- thank God.
Remaining chick seems to be doing well -- and so does Mom.  I'm sure they aren't 'out of the woods'
just yet but it is a bit encouraging.
(according to YouTube video, Mom removed the remains of the first deceased -- I think it was yesterday.)

About 5:30 AM (nest time) Dad brought fish

Mom takes fish

.......and feeds very eager and hungry baby

After she finished feeding, I believe she was trying to move one of the deceased chicks -- or consume it.

Ugh! seems like this plastic is an accident waiting to happen as the chick gets covered up with it.
He keeps poking out from under.

Between 3:25 and 4:45

I read on Hancock Forum (thanks Donna) that Mom removed the deceased chicks from the nest bowl.

Glad you caught that, Sherri - I was watching on my phone so couldn't take s'caps (it's probably possible, but I'm not going there - LOL!).  Anyway, the little one almost managed to climb out of the nest cup, he was so eager to get to Mom and the fish!  love
