Pot Plant Owl
11 hrs ยท

It is more likely that this time the breeding will not be successful. I saw three eggs still in the pot last night when Lady took a short break. Such is Life!

Indeed, such is life.. Thanks Patti. At least there were only unviable eggs and no little Potted Plant Owls to worry about. Maybe next year. They must have so much fun observing them.

Long past due date, Lady is finally kicking out the non viable eggs. This is the first. She still wants to sit so we will wait a little while longer and see if she does the same with the other eggs.

She's trying again .... fingers crossed!

In a bizarre twist this breeding year, our Lady has already laid another not one, but two eggs. And she's now trying the old pot plant nest.

Lady has two eggs... things seem to be going well.

You can subscribe to their Youtube page and see the videos they post.

Well .... maybe a second clutch again....

Sadly, the eggs are so far overdue that they cannot be viable. To save Lady from the stress of sitting on infertile eggs , and Pappa from the stress of feeding her, we will remove the eggs at the first opportunity.

You Tube viewers may see their 'mating ritual' in the nest as she prepares to lay the next clutch. This could be in a week or two.
