7:04  Annie feeds the wee one  love love

7:11 Based on Annie cleaning up around the chick, I'm guessing quite a bit didn't make it to mouth but all is well.  bigsmile

Hm-m, is that a different fish?  puzzled2   looks different.

7:33  Kidd is so darned cute!  love  He is back in and trying to feed Annie but she doesn't seem to want any part of it!

"Well, maybe I can feed the wee one!" says Kidd. (and of course, Annie wasn't having any part of that!)

Seems to be quite strong already -- only 12 hours old.

3:01 Annie took off  faint  I sure hope she makes more of an effort to keep chick shaded!

Kidd came in a minute later -- he may have been on left rear post.....he moves a stick but then finally realizes it best to cover
the chick.

3:04

ETA
Annie back 3:17 and covered.  Kidd took off but came back to the post a couple minutes later

Wonderful to see a chick here!  It is late - but I think one of our local nests hasn't had a hatch yet, though there's no cam so it's hard to be sure - and the other two were within the last couple of weeks; the third Hog Island (Maine) chick hatched on June 7 - so I think there is quite a window there for CT chicks to fledge successfully.

Hi Judy......funny about the date as that (6/7) is the date that I have for Juan last year.  We can only hope these late ones are
strong enough.  Sadly, no trackers or tags on our Milford babies so we'll never know.  sosad
Hope if the other 2 eggs hatch, it will be soon!   bigsmile
