Our local eagles have been back for a while (I think they don't migrate, but they also don't spend that much time on the platform in the middle of a frozen river where they nest  whistle ) - and knowing they usually lay eggs in the middle of March, we stopped to check on them on March 18 - and it looks as if they are incubating!

Here are a few pictures (and I'll mention that the nest is 3/10 of a mile from our vantage point on what Sherri can attest is a high, windy bridge - so they're a bit fuzzy):

I have a few more pictures on my website - http://www.judybmaine.com/wildlife/sasanoa_20160318/sasanoa_mar18.htm

Still no sign of osprey at any of the nests in the area - but they usually arrive by early April, so it won't be long.
